What is it?
Green for Business (Zelená podnikom) is a voucher scheme run by the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) under Program Slovensko. It helps small and medium-sized companies install equipment that produces energy from renewable sources for their own use.
Current status
The first round closed in December 2025. SIEA has said it is preparing the next round. The dates and any changes to the terms will be confirmed when the round is announced.
Who can apply?
- Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including sole traders and energy communities.
- Large companies are not eligible. Primary agriculture, fisheries and activities covered by the EU emissions trading system are excluded.
What does it fund?
- Photovoltaic and wind installations of up to 250 kW, heat pumps and solar collectors.
- Battery storage only as part of a new photovoltaic or wind installation, with at least 0.25 kWh per kW of installed power; battery costs count up to 1 kWh per kW. A standalone battery, or one added to an existing system, is not eligible.
- At least 50% of the energy produced must be used on site.
How much?
- A basic rate of 35%, plus a 5% bonus for every eligible installation, so 40% in practice.
- A further 5% if the energy audit shows at least 80% self-consumption, so up to 45%.
- Up to €50,000 per company across all its applications, including up to €2,500 for the energy audit.
How does it work?
- Energy audit: a qualified auditor prepares an audit for this purpose before you apply. It sets the eligible capacity and the expected share of self-consumption.
- Application: you apply for the voucher with the audit and the basic company documents.
- Installation: once the contract is signed, the equipment must be installed within 6 months. Then you claim the voucher.
