Grants for business solar and battery storage in Slovakia: October 2026

Which schemes can help pay for photovoltaics, battery storage and charging right now, which have closed, and what to prepare before the next round opens.

Grant schemes for business energy projects in Slovakia open in rounds, close, and return months later with slightly different rules. This is where things stand on 22 October 2026. If you are reading it later, ask us for the current position before you plan around it.

Green for Business: the next round is being prepared

Green for Business (Zelená podnikom) is the main scheme for small and medium-sized companies. SIEA runs it and pays vouchers towards photovoltaic and wind installations of up to 250 kW, heat pumps and solar collectors. Batteries qualify only as part of a new photovoltaic or wind installation, with at least 0.25 kWh per kW of installed power, and battery costs count up to 1 kWh per kW. At least half of the energy produced must be used on site.

The voucher covers 40% of eligible costs, or 45% if the energy audit shows at least 80% self-consumption, up to €50,000 per company including the audit. The first round closed in December 2025. SIEA has said the next round is being prepared, but no date has been published yet.

Open in the Bratislava region: Program Slovensko

A SIEA call for energy efficiency and renewables in enterprises remains open in rolling rounds for projects in the Bratislava region. It closed in the rest of Slovakia in July 2025. Companies of any size can apply for €50,000 to €3 million, and an energy audit is required.

In the Bratislava region, new renewable generation is funded at 65%, 55% or 45% for small, medium-sized and large companies. Storage is funded only together with new renewable generation, at 50%, 40% or 30%.

Open for manufacturers: the Modernisation Fund

Envirofond’s call MoF 8/2026 funds energy efficiency in manufacturing companies, and building renovation in energy, water and waste companies. Photovoltaics, batteries charged mainly from on-site renewables and charging points can be added as extra measures when at least two main parts of a building are renovated.

For building renovations outside the Bratislava region, the aid is 45 to 65% depending on company size, or 60 to 80% when the project saves at least 40% of primary energy. Applications are due by 30 October 2026, and later rounds are to be announced.

Planned: Just Transition Fund calls

The Ministry of Investments has scheduled two calls for the transition regions, which include Košice, Košice-okolie, Michalovce, Prievidza, Partizánske and several districts of the Banská Bystrica region. One is for solar installations with storage in the private sector, with about €13.8 million. The other is for charging infrastructure, with €10 million. Both were planned for the third quarter of 2026, so check with us whether they have opened.

Closed calls

  • Recovery Plan call for renewables with batteries (2025). Up to 45% and €2.5 million per project for new renewable generation of 0.5 to 5 MW with a battery. Applications closed on 15 July 2025, and no follow-up call has been announced.
  • Interreg Poland-Slovakia, electromobility. Up to 80% for e-mobility projects in the Žilina and Prešov regions and the Spišská Nová Ves district. Applications closed on 28 February 2025.
  • Renewables in energy supply systems. A Program Slovensko call planned for 2025 was dropped from the schedule and never opened.

What we do

We follow the calls, tell you which one fits, arrange the energy audit and prepare the application with the technical design and the economic calculation the scheme asks for.

Where nothing fits yet, we tell you what to prepare, so the application is ready on the day a call opens.

How to be ready for the next round
  • Have the energy audit done early. Green for Business and Program Slovensko both require one before you apply.
  • Collect 15-minute load data for the last 12 months.
  • Do not start work before you apply. Most schemes refuse projects that started too early.
  • Check your company size, counting partner and linked companies.
  • Size batteries to the scheme rules, not only to the site.

Questions we hear

Not under Green for Business, which funds batteries only as part of a new photovoltaic or wind installation. Other schemes have their own rules, so we check each project against them.
Green for Business is for small and medium-sized companies only. Large companies can apply to Program Slovensko for projects in the Bratislava region and, in manufacturing, to the Modernisation Fund.
Usually yes. The grant covers part of the eligible costs and the rest can be financed. We can arrange financing of up to 90% of the price through Tatra banka.
